Exclusive: Bio-gen and Azoth Biotech join forces to develop functional mushroom nutraceuticals

By ‘bridging the gap between ancient practice and modern science’, the companies hope to develop consumer-centric and efficacious functional mushroom extracts

Nutraceutical ingredient manufacturer Bio-gen Extracts has teamed up with medicinal mushroom specialist Azoth Biotech to create efficacious functional mushroom extracts.

Together, the companies aim to advance the understanding of how functional mushrooms work, while characterising the bioactives that underpin their efficacy and developing novel formulations with targeted health benefits.

By conducting further research into the functional properties of popular mushrooms and fungal products such as lion’s mane, reishi, chaga and cordyceps, the pair hope to accelerate mushroom extract product development in India and further afield.
